SAEP USA
The South African Education and Environment Project-USA (SAEP USA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1994 to conduct educational and charitable activities in Southern Africa in general, and South Africa in particular.
For many years, SAEP (USA) operated in South Africa, but after it had registered a sister non-profit educational organization, the South African Education and Environment Project (SAEP SA), it ceased operations in South Africa and since 2010 has only raised funds for SAEP (SA), which reports back to it on how the funds were used.
Activities
SAEP (USA) is a separate legal entity that shares SAEP (SA)’s educational goals. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
SAEP (SA) provides academic, life skills, and psycho-social support programs for children, youth and education providers in some of the poorest and most under-resourced black townships of South Africa, primarily but not exclusively in and around Cape Town.
